ClanRam Fact or Fiction: Week Six

Let's hear the answers, with commentary if you're so inclined.

    1) Daunte Culpepper is the frontrunner for MVP five weeks into the season.

    2) Clinton Portis is overrated, and it's showing now that he's left the Broncos' RB-friendly system.

    3) The Patriots/Seahawks game is a Super Bowl preview.

    4) Ben Roethlisberger is proving that he was really the best quarterback in the 2004 draft.

    5) Tom Coughlin is the frontrunner for coach of the year thus far.

    6) The Seattle Seahawks will win the NFC West.

    7) The Green Bay Packers will finish under .500 for the first time since Favre took over.

    8) The Detroit Lions are for real, and will show it by beating the Packers this weekend.

    Let the debate begin!

Re: ClanRam Fact or Fiction: Week Six

    1. True. He has emerged as the top QB so far this year.

    2. False. But he is not a good fit in the Joe Gibbs offense.

    3. False. I don't think either team will be there.

    4. False. He's the one who has had an opportunity. He may be the best, he might not be.

    5. True. But he won't be at the end of the year.

    6. False. Rams (nuff said).

    7. True. This is the end of the line for Favre.

    8. True. I liked Detroit even before the season started.

True. 15 TD and 0 Int, it helps having Moss, but he has spread it around as well.

    2) Clinton Portis is overrated, and it's showing now that he's left the Broncos' RB-friendly system.
False. He's a premier back, but will find it difficult in the Gibbs system.

    3) The Patriots/Seahawks game is a Super Bowl preview.
False. Too many good teams out there right now. Colts, Eagles are more likely.

    4) Ben Roethlisberger is proving that he was really the best quarterback in the 2004 draft.
False. He's just the only one who has seen the field.

    5) Tom Coughlin is the frontrunner for coach of the year thus far.
True. Who else has done so much with so little.

    6) The Seattle Seahawks will win the NFC West.
False. The Rams are still the team to beat.

    7) The Green Bay Packers will finish under .500 for the first time since Favre took over.
    True. Too little defense.

    8) The Detroit Lions are for real, and will show it by beating the Packers this weekend.
False. Their improved, but not yet contenders. Ask again in a year or two.

    1. True--I hate to say it.
    2. False--will break out soon. Learning curve for the entire offense and need to find a leader there.
    3. False--Pats will loose in the playoffs to the Colts as they get there revenge. Still sticking to the Vikings, even though they have been hit hard with the injury bug. Indy wins though.
    4. True--I liked Ben and I still do
    5. True--but will change by the end of the season.
    6. False--I have rejuvenated hopes
    7. True--This will be Favre's last season. GB is going in the crapper fast and the future looks bleak
    8. True--Lions are for real. I only wish their receivers didn't get bit. P.S.--There is your coach of the year --MMMOOOCCCHHHH

Re: ClanRam Fact or Fiction: Week Six

    1. False - Tiki Barber, whose stock was slipping as this season started due his fumbling, has done more for a team that was expected to accomplish nothing this season than Culpepper has done for his. I could throw the ball in an offense with Moss.

    2. False - not sure about this one. I'm inclined to agree that he's overrated, but I think we need to wait until the end of the season before we say true. The Broncos are definately a running-back friendy team.

    3. False - I don't think the Seahawks will be there, and I'm not sure the Pats will be either.

    4. True - yes he's gotten a chance to show his stuff before the other rookies have, but many people thought he was the best QB coming out anyway. Those that didn't weren't convinced because he didn't play at a big-time college. Even Manning didn't lokk this good in his first few starts.

    5. True - and to think that the players were *****ing at how hard he worked them in preseason. I wonder how they like him now!

    6. Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!

    7. False - Never underestimate Favre.

    8. True - Even if they don't beat the Pack this week, they are for real. Wait until next year, if Rodgers can stay healthy, and they have a 1-2 punch of Rodgers and Roy Williams. That's going to be scary.

Re: ClanRam Fact or Fiction: Week Six

    1. Fiction - Right now it's gotta be Brady, Owens, or McNabb (as much as that sickens me) as their teams are still undefeated.

    2. Fiction - Portis is a solid RB, the Redskins just need a better offense.

    3. Fiction - Patriots may be there, but Seahawks clearly will not be.

    4. Fact - I said that back in April

    5. Fiction - Should be Herman Edwards or Belichick (hopefully the former).

    6. Fact - this is a toss up, I'm saying 7-9 or 8-8

    7. Fiction - The Lions are not for real.....yet. Won't beat the Pack though.
