Curtis and career day
PHILADELPHIA -- Kevin Curtis tied an NFL record for yards receiving in a first half Sunday with 205 yards on nine catches in Philadelphia's game against the Detroit Lions.
Curtis caught touchdown passes of 68, 12 and 43 yards from Donovan McNabb as the Eagles built a 42-21 lead.
A free-agent acquisition in the offseason, Curtis tied the mark set last year by Buffalo's Lee Evans against Houston. The record for yards receiving in any half is 221 by Irving Fryer.
McNabb hit Curtis on a post pattern for the 68-yard score in the first quarter, and found Curtis uncovered after a play-action fake for the 12-yarder in the second. Then, following a Detroit punt, Curtis got loose on an apparently blown coverage down the left sideline for an easy touchdown catch that gave the Eagles a 35-7 lead.
Curtis needed just a quarter to have a career day. He caught six passes for 132 yards in the quarter. His previous single-game best was 105 yards in 2005.
So glad we got rid of Kevin so we could acquire Bennett. :\

Re: Curtis and career day
Curtis deserved to get a shot at starting, I'm happy for him, although I would have LOVED for us to keep him.
But I'm glad he and Warner had huge days. Can we bring them back?

Re: Curtis and career day
Those are ugly uniforms. What's with the colors? Did the eagles use those colors at some point in the past?
I am happy for Curtis and sad for me since I benched him on my one of my fantasy teams.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Re: Curtis and career day
He wanted a shot at starting, I don't think he was ever going to stay here unless he was going to get a shot to be #1 or 2.So glad we got rid of Kevin so we could acquire Bennett."There's only one way to succeed in anything, and that is to give it everything. I do, and I demand that my players do."

Re: Curtis and career day
Curtis is too short...we needed a tall receiver. Short don't work in this league.

Re: Curtis and career day
It isn't like Bennett isn't capable of putting up big numbers:
| 13 ind | 0 | 3 124 | 3 |
| 14 kan | 0 | 12 233 | 3 |
| 15 oak | 0 | 13 160 | 2 |
That's a pretty nice little three game stretch when he was with Tennessee a couple of years ago. The problem is that he's playing in the aptly named prevent offense of Scott Linehan.
