*****, Conway Agree To Terms

After days of speculation, the San Francisco ***** have announced they have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with wide receiver Curtis Conway.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of Curtis Conway to our receiving corps,” General Manager Terry Donahue said. “Curtis brings a lot of experience to our squad. He has been productive at every stop in his career. We are happy to have him.”

Conway, an 11-year veteran, has started 139-of-151 games in his career. The 6-1, 196-pounder was a first-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 1993.

Known for his speed and big-play ability, Conway has caught 556 passes for 7,827 yards and 49 touchdowns in his career. He has an impressive 14.1 average per reception and has had three 1,000-yard receiving seasons in his career. Conway has also played for the San Diego Chargers and New York Jets.

“Curtis brings 11 years of experience to our team,” Head Coach Dennis Erickson said. “He has been a successful starter in the league. Curtis will help us on and off the field, as a player and as a mentor to our young receivers.”

I'm not exactly sure if I would even consider this an addition for the Whiners although the article (taken from the Whiners website) sure makes Conway sound a lot better than he actually is.

Here's hoping for a season-long Peterson holdout as well.
