Absolutely, it's what most fans do. I really can't fault Bears fans for being excited after the string of QB woes they've had ever since Jim McMahon. It always seems that they are a good QB away from putting it all together and now they have a guy who's got all the physical tools. Psychological tools are another matter though. I'll admit I don't like Cutler at all, but I still see problems for him and the Bears down the road.

Exactly what I was going to say Mike.

I'd like to add that if you are a team that feels like you are knocking on the door of a Superbowl and the one position that is holding you back is the QB.

You make the deal in the Win now mind set.

Awh the drama of it--and soooo glad the Rams got to see it unfold from a safe distance.

What do you get when you bring in a HC with an ego equal to the ego of your number one asset? Not entirely sure myself but its not good! haha!

Oh this will be an interesting year to be watching football. You know the Bronco fans are going to be watching their team under a microscope and if the least little problem comes up in the winning department--there is going to be a rolling howl heard echoing off the Rocky Mountains. So now the Bronco head coach is on the hot seat...heheh!

If anything the Bears got the better end of the deal. Cutler can play the possition of QB and last I looked not a lot of top talented QBs out there. Almost anything for the Bears is better then R. Grossmen.

So, lesson learned by others mistakes, check your ego at the door

    Re: Cutler to the Bears

Excerpt from Peter King Monday Morning QB from CNNSI.com on April 6th.

The Bears finally have the quarterback they've longed for. If anyone thinks the Bears paid too much, let me show you the 14 men who have been first-round picks for the Bears in the last 15 drafts: John Thierry, Rashaan Salaam, Walt Harris, Curtis Enis, Cade McNown, Brian Urlacher, David Terrell, Marc Colombo, Michael Haynes, Rex Grossman, Tommie Harris, Cedric Benson, Greg Olsen, Chris Williams.
Now, considering the "success" or lack of it with first round picks by the Bears, do you think that they "overpaid"? I don't. I think the Bears hate the first round and this is a great way to get the QB they think they need.

I think you're absolutely right Tx, if Cutler works out. How big that "if" really is remains to be seen.
