Re: Is Darwin Walker someone we should have interest is?
I was reading this story earlier today on Yahoo and wondered the same question myself. His stats are decent, the question is would he fit our defensive scheme? 29 yrs old, right around league average in tackles, but it seems he wants more than what he was scheduled to be paid this season. I d/k if Linehan and Co. would be interested for what he wants. Of course, they may also be waiting for his release to see what they can get him for...:l

Re: Is Darwin Walker someone we should have interest is?
A similar article caught my attention at NFL.com. It said that he will be going back to Philly, but "that they are likely to release him." Personally I think this looks like the move of a guy who wants to test the waters in free agency. If he does become available he looks like a much safer bet than lard but Jenkins.

Re: Is Darwin Walker someone we should have interest is?
I wouldn't give anything in a trade for him, because yes, he wants the free agent money. Even a deal now would be better than one he could get on a renegotiated one. He also doesn't want to be in dead end Buffalo. We have the cap room, but do we want a me first kind of guy? I would hope we could make him into a team player, but I'm not sure. But he does fall into the upgrade over what we have to start range so I'd take him for the right price.

I'm not sure he is being a me 1st guy, If he was the 4th most productive D lineman in the past 5 seasons, and the offer they gave him would make him the least paid starting player with his experience. it sounds life he is just asking to be rational. If your not getting paid and you should be then your the one that has to do with it. This is different than A T.O. , now this Larry Johnson deal is more selfish to me.

Re: Is Darwin Walker someone we should have interest is?
I understand his beef with the Eagles, but if he can't get a deal done with a team that was willing to trade for him, I don't think it's likely we'll make him an offer he can't refuse.

So if we signed him, what do we do with Glover and Wroten? Who gets cut? Where does the cap money come from?

Re: Is Darwin Walker someone we should have interest is?
It has nothing to do with being a team player or being a me 1st kind of guy. If you look at Lance Briggs, he has every right to be holding out for a new deal. What the Bears want to pay him is a slap in the face for a Linebacker of his calibur and of such value to that defense.
Does he play UT ot NT naturally? And what is his injury history?

Then why did Briggs sign the contract? But I digress...
Walker is a UT.

Re: Is Darwin Walker someone we should have interest is?
i wouldn't sign him we already have a vet in Glover and Wroten has allot of potential if he was a NT maybe, i don't think we need another UT.
