MIAMI -- Tackle Vernon Carey has been placed on injured reserve by the Miami Dolphins, who signed receiver Kevin Curtis.
Carey's streak of 87 consecutive starts ended Sunday because of a knee injury, and Tuesday's roster move means he'll miss the final three games as well. Lydon Murtha replaced Carey is expected to start this week against Buffalo.
Curtis shores up a hobbled receiving corps. Miami lost Brian Hartline last week with a season-ending injury to a finger on his left hand, and Brandon Marshall is slowed by a right hamstring injury.
Curtis played in only three games last year with Philadelphia because of a left knee injury and hasn't played this season while recovering from a bout with testicular cancer. The eighth-year veteran has 252 career receptions, 20 for touchdowns.

Glad to see Curtis back out there, but I wish he was in horns. His veteran leadership could have help out the kids we have at WR.

Great to see Curtis back in the NFL after his battle with cancer. He said he would do it, and he did.

Very happy to see he's back. I read where he said he was going to train hard and try to make a comeback... here's the start of it!
