Eagles shopping scatback Moats
The Eagles are reportedly shopping backup RB Ryan Moats.
A third-round pick in 2005, Moats mysteriously fell off the Birds' game-day roster last season after averaging 5.1 yards-per-carry as a rookie. Moats is cheap and signed through 2008 and could interest clubs looking for a change-of-pace back like the Rams, Colts, and possibly the Vikings.
We all remember this guy when he broke a long run against us in I believe 2005.

What would you guys offer for him? A 5th?

5th seems like a nice way to go. He's proven himself, arguably, as a nice change of pace back.

I'd do it, because he has lots of potential.

Re: Eagles shopping scatback Moats
A friend of mine is a HUGE Eagles fan and is always talking about how he wishes they'd use him more. I've only seen him play a couple of times and he impressed me. To bad for my buddy though

Re: Eagles shopping scatback Moats
I'd give them a #5 for him; I believe he is signed through 08' also. He'd be a nice addition. I wonder if he could be used as a returner.

Re: Eagles shopping scatback Moats
Moats was a guy I was pretty high on when he came out in the draft. Might be work a look.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Eagles shopping scatback Moats
I would definately be willing to give up our 5th round draft pick to get this kid. Hell i'd even be willing to give up our 4th round mabye. This kid kills 2 birds with 1 stone. He would be the change of pace back that we have been looking for and at the same time give us an excellent punt/kick off retuner. And for a price this cheap? I don't think that we can afford to not trade for him.

Re: Eagles shopping scatback Moats
He could be a useful addition for us, he is a change of pace back that could work very well with Jackson. Nice 1-2 punch, and they are also very different types of backs which I like, gives a bit of variety..

Re: Eagles shopping scatback Moats
I bet most of you have mock drafts with 2 picks the way you want to trade away all of them.

Re: Eagles shopping scatback Moats
Hey, settle....
It's all possibilty...
Here's my take on scenarios like this-
Guys like Moats have had a season or two to demnstrate their worth. So in this light, he is a more proven player than a 5th round draft pick, in that we know what sort of player we're getting.
But you have to question why he's on the block in the firstplace.

Re: Eagles shopping scatback Moats
They have a speedy "scat" back starting in Brian Westbrook, and my guess is they're looking for more of a powerful 3rd down back for short yardage situations a la late Tiki Barber & Brandon Jacobs tandem. We already have a big ol' bruiser in Jackson so complimenting that with a speedy change of pace back like Moats would be ideal.
