Eric Crouch to make another comeback
Heisman trophy winner Eric Crouch is making yet another comeback.
Specifically, Crouch will play for the AAFL, a new league that will begin play in 2008.
Crouch was selected by the Rams in the third round of the 2002 draft, and promptly converted to receiver. He "retired" from the NFL not long after his career began.
The former Nebraska Cornhusker resurfaced in Canada, playing quarterback for the Toronto Argonauts.
The AAFL initially will field six teams in Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, and Michigan. Unlike the UFL, which plans to launch in 2008 during the conventional football season, the AAFL will play in the spring.
-From Pro Football Talk
I'm interested in the AAFL. It's suppose to focus on "hometown heroes" and players who didn't make it in the NFL. Perhaps the AAFL could turn into the NFL's new developmental league. I know the NFL was interested in the AFL (Arena Football League), but the two games are very different in some areas, and the AAFL may be a better idea.
I don't like that UFL idea. It's just crazy people like Mark Cuban who think they can make a ton of money by competing against the NFL. Another football league is not a bad idea, but why not play games at time when people will watch it? Unless they play on Fridays or something.
