First look: Seahawks vs. St. Louis Rams

First look: Seahawks vs. St. Louis Rams

JOHN BAZEMORE / APIsaac Bruce has four straight 100-yard games to start the season.

Last week: The Rams beat the ***** 24-14.

Record: 2-2.

The coach: In his fifth season, Mike Martz is the longest-tenured coach in St. Louis Rams history, which dates to 1995. Martz's 47 wins gives him the fourth-highest total in team history. Not bad for a guy who joined the Rams as an unpaid assistant in 1992.

Martz came of age as the Rams' offensive coordinator in 1999, when the Rams' "Greatest Show on Turf" offense led them to the Super Bowl title after that season. The Rams averaged 401 yards per game on offense that year.

Key players

RB Marshall Faulk: The seven-time Pro Bowl selection continues to perform at a high level in his 11th NFL season. He has seven 1,000-yard seasons and one 1,000-yard receiving season.

WR Isaac Bruce: As smooth a player as there is in the NFL, Bruce hopes to be a minister when his playing days are over. His 11th NFL season is shaping up to be one of his best — Bruce has 100 or more receiving yards in the first four games.

QB Marc Bulger: Bulger earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl last season after passing for 3,845 yards. He also threw 22 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. Bulger was knocked out of the game in Seattle in 2002 in the first quarter.

CB Aeneas Williams: Another veteran who is still making plays, Williams is 36, playing in his 14th pro season and went to the Pro Bowl last season. For the future Hall of Famer, it was his eighth selection. This year, Williams has 28 tackles, second on the Rams.

Notable: Chris Chandler, the Rams' backup QB, is in his 17th NFL season out of the University of Washington. He's an Everett native. ... Other Rams with state connections are TE Cameron Cleeland (Sedro Woolley), DE Bryce Fisher (Renton), WR Dane Looker (Puyallup) and DT Brian Howard (Kent).

Quotable: Martz, after St. Louis ran the ball effectively in a win over the *****: "The offensive line took it upon themselves to make things happen, and they certainly did. ... It's just like in the passing game. If you're hitting them, you keep going. You do whatever it takes to win."
