Fisher faces fourth-degree assault charge
Posted by Mike Sando @ 05:26:33 pm
Seahawks DE Bryce Fisher faces a fourth-degree assault charge stemming from an April 11 domestic dispute, according to court records. Fisher, 29, appeared in Kirkland Municipal Court for a pretrial hearing this morning. The case was continued to Dec. 6.
Fourth-degree assault is a gross misdemeanor (first-, second- and third-degree assault are felonies). I'm gathering additional details on this one. Fisher does not have a history of legal issues, at least to my knowledge.
He is a captain in the Washington Air National Guard. We wrote about Fisher earlier this offseason when he was finishing a 12-day NFL-USO tour of U.S. military bases in the Balkans and Persian Gulf.

Re: Fisher faces fourth-degree assault charge
Sentencing for 4th-degree assault varies from state to state, but being a misdemeanor, if it is his 1st or 2nd offense, he'll get a fine of $100-$500, anger management classes that he has to pay for, and 40-80 hours of community service. He'll be on probation until his sentence is completed.

I wouldn't get too worked up about it, 16. He's always appeared to be a high character guy, so this may be an isolated event.

When I read this it reminded me of the opening scene in Con Air when Nicholas Cage accidently kills this dude because he was defending his girl.
