Frank Gore Breaks Hand
http://www.sacbee.com/100/story/300076.html
Running back Frank Gore broke a bone on the top of his right hand during non-contact drills in the *****' morning practice. Coach Mike Nolan said Gore would have a cast put on the hand but that he will have to miss at least the first part of the preseason. The injury is not expected to linger into the regular season.
"His participation in the preseason -- we'll want to wait and see," Nolan said.
Gore was the heart and soul of the *****' offense last year and was the NFC's leading rusher. This year, he has set a goal of 2,000 rushing yards.
One silver lining in the turn of events, Nolan said, was that he now has a chance to better evaluate Gore's back-ups, Michael Robinson, Maurice Hicks and rookie Thomas Clayton.
Monday was the first time the team has worn full pads since the season finale in Denver on Dec. 31. Gore, however, was injured in a non-contact drill before the team's intrasquad scrimmage.
---------------------------------------
Expected to be out around 4 weeks. This could add onto his fumbling problems.

Re: Frank Gore Breaks Hand
Doesn't sound like anything, but it really may make his fumbling problems worse.
Football wise, we need to take note of which hand is hurt, and be sure to try to strip that ball whenever he carries it in that hand.

Re: Frank Gore Breaks Hand
I thought this was one of those "wishful thinking" threads. It's a fact. Gore has a broken hand.
This means that he will be limited for 3-6 weeks. No one here is going to say Gore is a lousy player. We know he's good, but not being able to practice in camp is really going to hurt his production down the line. There is also the chance that he'll end up favoring that same hand during the season.
I hope you guys that have Gore on your fantasy teams drafted a good backup just in case.Super Bowl Champions 2013!

Re: Frank Gore Breaks Hand
This is bad news in my opinion. I want Gore 100% healthy(no excuses) going into the 2007 season so that we can enjoy the Jackson vs Gore comparisons on an even playing field.

Re: Frank Gore Breaks Hand
It was his right hand by the way. Not sure if that's his lead hand but chances are it is.

Not to make light of any injury but in the words of Nelson Muntz:

I've learned to never wish ill-will on your opponent. Karma is a beatch. When I beat someone, I want them at full strength, no excuses. ...and as I said,I believe in karma. So, get well soon Frank.

Re: Frank Gore Breaks Hand
i don't feel the same way. I think this is a bad thing. He was injured in the pre-season last year and he did just fine i see this just as extra rest. Another person who was hurt in the pre-season before was LT and he has done just fine.

Re: Frank Gore Breaks Hand
Well that's a problem. Inuries to Frank Gore are the stuff nightmares are made of. At least it's nothing too serious, like an ACL tear and it's before the season rather than during it. The silver lining is that this will give the team more time to evaluate the other RBs and see what the team would look like should he go down when it counts. And it keeps Gore out of at least a couple of preseason games, reducing the risk of him getting hurt in a meaningless game.

I didn't buy him as a quarterback. He's just so stiff, especially when he drops back to pass. Really stiff. He reminds me of Kurt Warner.

Re: Frank Gore Breaks Hand
Good job finding the silver lining BDaddy. At least he can still run around even if he can't carry the ball.
