Gregg Williams leaves Jacksonville without a contract

Quote:
Former assistant head coach-defense Gregg Williams, meanwhile, interviewed with the Jacksonville Jaguars yesterday but left without a contract. A league source said coach Jack Del Rio still wants to consider in-house options, including former Maryland coach Mark Duffner.

The source said Del Rio doesn't want to change the Jaguars' defensive scheme, which has his fingerprints, and that could be a stumbling block with Williams. Del Rio first targeted Rex Ryan, but Ryan opted to stay in Baltimore. Williams is expected to interview in St. Louis for the vacant defensive backs position.
From the Washington Times.

Re: Gregg Williams leaves Jacksonville without a contract

That would be very good if we could add both of them.

Re: Gregg Williams leaves Jacksonville without a contract

It definently won't be a bunch of laid back players. They will be getting yelled at all over the place by Saunders, Haslett, and Williams. When Linehan gets done cooking dinner for the boys at camp he will have to ring the bell pretty loud for the boys to be able to hear them over those agressive coaches.

Re: Gregg Williams leaves Jacksonville without a contract

Sounds great, I hope we can land him as well. It would be funny for me for this to happen considering my family of Redskins fans.
