The National Football League is distributing the following statement through the Bills Media Relations Department to all Western New York media.
STATEMENT BY AN NFL SPOKESPERSON:
Anthony Hargrove of the Buffalo Bills has been suspended without pay for the team’s first four regular-season games of 2007 for violating the NFL Substance Abuse Policy.
Hargrove's suspension begins on Saturday, September 1. He is eligible to return to the Bills’ active roster on Monday, October 1 following the team’s September 30 game against the New York Jets.
Hargrove is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games.
[Note: The NFL Substance Abuse Policy is posted on nflmedia.com. From the home page, click on "Resources" and then "About the NFL."]
In compliance with the NFL’s confidentiality clause in the Substance Abuse Policy, the Bills are prohibited from discussing any details of the suspension.
Depending on how everything with his recent arrest shakes out, he could be looking at more time because of that. Nice to see we got out of this mess when we did.

i watched the bills game last night with my friend who is a huge buffalo fan. He thought that they would give hargrove another chance after the arrest but this is probably going to be the last straw and i bet he isnt around long.

Something tells me there was a lot more going on behind the scenes with this guy then just being awol for a couple of days. I am guessing Linehan had his hands full from day one. Amazing how much we don't here about and how we hall wanted Linehan's head for letting him go without giving him another chance.
