I miss Martz
I am watching the Bears Cowboys game and it was so nice to see a super long pass to knox and than a nice TD catch by hester. Beautiful play calling. Love it Martz. Miss those days.

Re: I miss Martz
I miss Martz as an offensive coordinator. As a head coach, not so much.

Re: I miss Martz
I wonder how Bradford will last in terms of health if he played under his system? He knows how to make deep threats but threatens the lifespan of a QB, Jay Cutler just got lucky enough to only get sacked once but just wait till he faces the top D-linemen.

Re: I miss Martz
Yeah I watched some of the game too, and yeah it was fun watching it, but several plays, by design, blitzers were coming through unblocked. Sure the pass was completed, but Cutler would get smacked. My dad made the comment, somewhere Kurt Warner and Marc Bulger are sitting back and either laughing or crying when watching this game. That said, Mike Martz, the offensive coordinator, is a big reason why I am a Rams fan, so yeah I miss him too.

Ditto, UB. I wish we would have kept MMM (Mike 'Madness' Martz) a few more years. I believe we would have had quite a higher percentage of big Ws this decade.
Nice to see he's still somewhat "mad".

Re: I miss Martz
I pretty much agree with everyone..but no looking back now.
I am happy that we dont use all three time outs and 2 challenges by 2 minutes into the third quarter

Re: I miss Martz
Yeah Martz had his issues but don't all headcoaches? One thing for sure when Martz was here whether it be as HC or OC we enjoyed alot of exciting RAMS football.

Re: I miss Martz
Looks like Jay Cutler's starting to feel the side effects of running in Martz's system.

Somewhere in Baltimore, Iowa, and Dallas: Bulger, Warner, and Kitna are either laughing off the couch with their families or offering their prayers for Cutler to try and survive that nightmare you call, 7-step, pass-happy offense.Last edited by fliptalianstallion; -10-03-2010 at 10:43 PM. Re: I miss Martz
I don't miss Martz but I do miss seeing Warner, Pace, Timmerman, Faulk, Bruce, Holt, Hakim, Horne, and Proehl in their prime. That team was stacked on offense. I am starting to like this team and their overall makeup but there are five to six potential Hall of Famers that Martz had to work with on the offense.
Martz was back at getting his QB killed today. Chicago got sacked 10 times today two shy of the NFL record. Cutler alone was sacked 9 times in the first half and suffered a concussion. I have never heard of one QB being sacked 9 times before half time.
The Bears have scored fewer points then the Rams. Chicagos points scored this year is 69 (17.25 per game) and the Rams is 77(19.25). The Rams have also had two chip shot field goals missed and passed up an easy field goal today near the end. Not to mention our WRs are second in dropped passes.Last edited by RamsSB99; -10-04-2010 at 12:19 AM.

Re: I miss Martz
If you watched that game, rather little of it had to do with Martz or his play calling. A number of sacks were on Cutler waiting for the 40 yard plays instead of 20 yard ones when receivers were open. The rest came because it looked like the Bears offensive line didn't show up.
