Re: If you could change football.....

    Great thread, Megas!

In general, the "roughing the passer" penalty, I believe, should be revised once again. Force the offense to improve its pass protection and allow the defense to play football.

The NFL offense is currently playing with 12 men: that official in the backfield ... guarding every step the D makes in approaching / or in touching the QB!

It is an unfair advantage for the offense.

I figured somebody'd say that. Conversely, though, let's not let the other team's defense off the hook. I totally agree that both sides of the team ought to be held accountable, which is why I think both sides of both teams should have their chance to turn the game. Of course, you could always argue that they should have done that before the end of regulation time...I think this one will always be controversial, no matter what the rule is.

If they're not going to can replay entirely, though, it might help to have all the replay calls come from the booth like they do in the last two minutes of each half.

I like it. It makes perfect sense.

I would widen the field by 15 yards, maybe a little more. Help the offense, more big plays. A bit biased of course, given our offensive firepower.

A new form of penalty: take a player off of the field for a set amount of plays based on the severity of the charge.

i think that the nfl should allow team celebrations after tds. football is a team sport, not individual.

Why a cold weather city? People pay hundreds of dollars to watch the game, why make them watch it in the cold?

Re: If you could change football.....

all you people complaining about the tuck rule remember that it was only a fabrication to help new england win so it will likely never come up again
    ----------------------------------------

firstly I would put in college OT rules, no more first possesion FG bullshi,t

    full time refs definately

    stricter rules on cut blocks

why the seahawks still envy the rams:tongue:

    never happening

    1) superbowl is as much business as football nowendays, half the people that go arent even football fans for christs sake! it wouldnt be nearly as poppular in the cold, and the nfl would never allow it

    2) if a cold weather team ended up playing a warm weatber team, like green bay vs miammi for example in a cold weather stadium some would cinsider it an unfair advantage. which makes sense.

Take away all the domes and have all the teams play in the elements like when football started, and during 90% of its history.
