Brutal.
Hey, maybe he could get a job writing about football on a website or message board?

Well, I'm no Marmie fan, but I don't think he's gonna do much damage as the asst. DB coach. A non-factor if you ask me.

Saw this on USAToday's website:
Marshall named Seahawks defensive coordinator
Ken Hamlin - DB - SEA - Mar. 29 - 11:01 a.m. ET
John Marshall is the Seahawks' new defensive coordinator.
In a long-anticipated move, Marshall was named to the position previously occupied by Ray Rhodes, who now moves into a consultant role. Larry Marmie, the former DC for the Rams, is also expected to have decision-making power concerning the 'Hawks' defense. His official title is defensive backs coach. Mar. 29 - 11:01 a.m. ET

Maybe he can sabotage them yet...

Re: It's official - Seahawks hire Marmie
During Marmie's tenure as head coach at Arizona State, average game attendance fell from 70,717 to 55,715. Unlike many college head coaches who get recruited to leave their positions as head coaches, Marmie got fired for his poor record as a head coach before getting a job with the Cardinals.
In the time he has been in the NFL, he has never coached at any level on a top 15 defense. In the time he has been a defensive coordinator, his defenses have ranked 28th, 29th, and 26th with Arizona and 17th and 30th with the Rams. The only player ever to make it to the Pro Bowl while being coached by this man was Aeneas Williams before the Cardinals traded him to us. I think he should make a very effective defensive backs coach... in Div. II football.
The poison pill in his contract was the dotted line he signed on.Last edited by Goldenfleece; -04-01-2006 at 06:11 PM.
