A.J. Jenkins likely to be inactive when the season starts
Report: A.J. Jenkins likely to be inactive when the season starts

San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh has publicly defended his first-round draft pick, receiver A.J. Jenkins. But some observers of the ***** believe that Jenkins is so far down on the depth chart that he’s unlikely to see the field when the regular season starts.
According to CSNBayArea.com, it’s highly unlikely that Jenkins will be among the 46 active players when regular-season games begin.
Harbaugh says he has five No. 1 receivers — Michael Crabtree, Randy Moss, Mario Manningham, Ted Ginn and Kyle Williams — and Jenkins is behind all of them on the depth chart. There’s a good chance the ***** will only have five receivers active on game days, which would leave Jenkins watching the games in street clothes.
Unless Jenkins does something impressive enough in the preseason to move him up a spot on the depth chart, preseason might be all the playing time Jenkins gets for a while.

Harbaugh really said he has five no. 1 receivers? The bluster coming from his mouth is reaching Rex Ryan levels.

What?!Harbaugh says he has five No. 1 receivers — Michael Crabtree, Randy Moss, Mario Manningham, Ted Ginn and Kyle Williams
Crabtree had 72-874-4 last year. Not exactly #1 numbers. Manningham had 39-523-4 last year. Ginn and Williams COMBINED for 39-461-3. Moss hasn't seen the field in over a year, and hasn't found the endzone since October 2010.
Jim, you did some amazing things last year, but there's not a single #1 receiver on your roster. Maybe Crabtree, if 25th in receptions, 34th in receiving yardage and 63rd in TDs is #1-worthy numbers.
If Jenkins is not active, it's because Jenkins is sucking it up."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

If you have 5 #1 WR's, and you draft a first-round wide receiver you're an idiot so either way something stupid just happened here..

Well if he doesn't pan out and busts hard, more power to us.

I'm surprised a couple of us wanted him as a last minute choice in the 2nd round.
