THis is also why in the salary cap era, less and less backs are getting huge money. More teams realize that the real key is the o line, there are a lot more qualified backs that can gain yardage with good blocking than there are truly great backs that can gain big yardage in spite of crappy blocking. Yet another reason why people shouldnt be so harsh on steven jackson as our interior line blockling, while better this year, is hardly all pro caliber.
Backs decline in value so quickly. its a very rare guy indeed that is worth paying big money to at age 28. a cap liability waiting to happen and even then, it has to be a contending team.
