Jenkins weight blows up again!
From the oh so reliable Pro Football Talk:
JENKINS TIPS THE SCALES AT 384
Raiders defensive tackle Warren Sapp has lost 49 pounds in the 2007 offseason.
We now know who found it.
A league source tells us that Panthers defensive tackle Kris Jenkins weighed in at last weekend's minicamp at a jaw-dropping (and raising . . . and dropping . . . and raising) 384 pounds.
Before the draft, the veteran run stuffer (and toilet clogger) was on the trading block. And it apparently broke.

Re: Jenkins weight blows up again!
Hate to say the obvious, but man I'm glad we didn't trade a first or second round pick for him.

Yeah, it's looking like that would have been a big fat mistake.:)
Re: Jenkins weight blows up again!
He'll lose alot during the conditioning and training camps. This kinda reminds me of Grady Jackson, alway huge going into training camp, always getting ragged on for his weight, always being a top run stuffer and doing his job. Didn't Leon Lett have this same sort of problem in Dallas, where he played what......10 years.
This is overblown.
That being said, I wouldn't have given more than a third and another pick for him anyhow.
Re: Jenkins weight blows up again!
i wish we would of picked up grady jackson instead of jason fisk last year, it might of helped us down the road

I'm sure he will, but again the fact that he didn't maintain himself during the offseason and let it balloon to that size is cause for concern for the Panthers, and would have been even more cause for concern for us had we parted with a second round pick. Thankfully we didn't.
Re: Jenkins weight blows up again!
I hate saying it, but perhaps not getting Jenkins was a blessing in disguise...

For anyone that has attempted weight loss. Training camp or not 49 lbs is alot to lose. I mean to get back to 335 lbs for the start of the regular season means he has to lose the weight in 4 months basically. :x
Panthers better sew his mouth shut!:)
Re: Jenkins weight blows up again!
I dont think its that much weight for him to lose as a percentage of his body weight. If he cuts back to two six packs and day and takes three massive dumps, he probably loses twenty pounds off the top!
ramming speed to all

Since I am here, I shall speak of truth. I spoke of listening to the cow pies, and that they told me of Jenkins not coming to St. Louis. He is like a steer awaiting slaughter, and is now in the feed lot, where he belongs.
The cow pies also tell of this calf named Carriker. He shall earn his horns, and no one shall ever be able to ride him for eight seconds.
The Great Cow Guru has spoken.
