Jonathan Vilma
There are reports he is being shopped at the combine. He might be a good addition if we stick to a 4-4 defense.

Re: Jonathan Vilma
Jonathon Vilma is a topnotch LB just not sure how he would fit in the 4 squared defense?

Re: Jonathan Vilma
hes a great player but well...is not like other more aggressive franchises dont know that and not sure how he`d fit into our team other than if `spoon moves back out wide...which im not so sure that Haslett and co would want to do.!
did i say that or just think it?

Re: Jonathan Vilma
Spoon showed he still has outside ability by the way he was able to be used as an outside pass blitz when Little went down. If we could find a serious MLB like Vilma, why wouldn't we want to move him back to the outside. Will is still a better backer than any of the other Ram backers no matter where they play him.

Re: Jonathan Vilma
As Per Rotoworld
The Jets have given ILB Jonathan Vilma permission to shop himself for a potential trade.
Vilma is coming off knee surgery, but was a Pro Bowl alternate his second season, and just doesn't fit well into Eric Mangini's 3-4 defense. He'll seek a long-term deal with a team that would then have to work out a trade with the Jets. Reuniting with former Jets defensive coordinator Donnie Henderson in Jacksonville is a possibility. There has also been talk in St. Louis of the Rams sending the No. 2 overall pick to the Jets for the No. 6 pick and Vilma, though that seems unlikely.

Re: Jonathan Vilma
Spoon has been great in that MLB spot. Of course, he could move if we somehow got Vilma and I think Spoon would be great in those other rolls as well.
But I don't know if I'd really want to mess with what has been working. If Spoon is playing great there (as he has been), then I think he should stay there and we work on other parts that are not working first.
Plus our cap room isn't healthy enough for us to go after a bigger named guy right now. We'd have to re-do some contracts and make some cuts first.

Re: Jonathan Vilma
The funniest thing is the Jets gave Vilma permission to speak with any team about a trade except the Cheatriots. The Cheatriots need lb's but they arent getting Vilma LOL.

Re: Jonathan Vilma
if we did get Vilma, could he be moved to the strongside with Spoon remaining in the middle?

Re: Jonathan Vilma
Man, I really hope so. I have a feeling he will want a lot of money, though. Money we don't really have.
