Re: K Warner - no matter what great guy

When I first noticed THIS thread I ignored it thinking it was going to be another "We should have kept Warner" drag outs.

I never expected it to be about 60 dollars and what's for dessert!!!

Better yet, who's paying for dessert?

    GO RAMS!!!!

Re: K Warner - no matter what great guy

Here is the horribly offensive post that I made to set the Warner-flavored Kool Aid drinkers off on their latest tizzy:

No offense to Kurt, but if someone did that to me, I'd say "keep your money, I can pay for my own dinner."
Oh! The horror of it all! I actually expressed my belief in self-sufficiency over pointless throwing around of money by a rich guy! Sue me! Lock me up and throw away the key!

Of course, for some, Kurt is simply beyond reproach.

    Jamie Duncan.

Incidentally, Marc Bulger apparently goes to restaurants and tells little kids that there is no Santa Claus and that their chicken nuggets are actually made from the Easter Bunny.

LOL.. good thing the whole thread exists so that folks can see that you said far more than that innocuous observation.

    Kurt: "Excuse me... Miss?"

    Waitress: "Yes, Mr. Warner."

Kurt: "Oh, that's okay, you can call me Your Holiness."

    Waitress: "Um.... okay..."

Kurt: "Listen, I was wondering what that family over there ordered."

Waitress: "That one over there? Well, the parents ordered the surf and turf, and the kids each are having a porterhouse."

Kurt: "Oh... well, how about that one?"

Waitress: "Well, they are sharing two caviar appetizers, and for their entree they all ordered the veal chops. I think they're having the Vintage Pinot Noir with that."

Kurt: "No, that's no good. How about that one in the corner."

Waitress: "Them? Oh, well they said they are running late for the theatre, so they're just having soup and side salads."

Kurt: "Great! Put their dinner on my tab."

Brenda: "Oh, Kurt! You are so wonderful!"

    Kurt: "I know, babe."

That 's more like it. Your envy and hatred shows much better when you put it all in one place.

Let's keep this thread going for another 100 posts...

Chris, I say that Warner likes Mok better than he likes you.

Mok, I say that Warner likes Chris better than he likes you.

Now you two can fight it out for the next few weeks.

Cool. Since you hate Warner so much, how bout you just stay out of threads about him, huh?

Oh yeah.. I forgot. Your mission is to re-educate those of us who still think highly of Warner.

    LOL

Do you get the feeling that somewhere Kurt is reading this thread and thinking, "man, I really appreciate my fans, but Chris and Mok just creep me out."

I have a feeling he'd be thinking something else while reading this thread.

Re: K Warner - no matter what great guy

Using "if-then" before talking about Bulger purposely tanking games doesn't change the fact that such a possibility has no basis behind it.
How is it baseless? Bulger played very well under Linehan for a full year and followed it up by struggling for over a year. His demeanor, production, eye-rolling and reported quote all support the idea that he wasn't giving it 100%. The only question is whether it was intentional. Consciously or sub-consciously.

And my thoughts were what I would feel IF Bulger was doing this or that. AV has already condemned Warner, told us what he was really doing and gone out of his way to bad-mouth those of us who don't feel the same.

He's shown his distaste for Warner many times in many ways and it's sad that he can't just admit that he doesn't care for him or even hates him. There's been nothing constructive or conversational about his posts and it's sad that you have to use out of context references of mine to try and diminish what I'm saying here.

I'm not sure how you arrive there. I think the more likely answer is simply that they suggest he wasn't happy with the situation. I think, again, you're leaping to a rather far out conclusion if you feel those things clearly mean he wasn't giving it his all.

If you think I pointed this out to try and diminish your position in this debate, you're largely mistaken. I really don't know where I stand when it comes to Warner and this story, so why would I try to diminish a position I may ultimately agree with?

Rather, I was simply pointing out that your objection regarding a lack of basis behind Av's statements here was similar to how I felt regarding certain statements you made about Bulger's attitude and the idea that he might be purposely playing poorly.

I guess the point is that it all depends on what point of view you have in the situation. Just as you feel you have basis for your opinion on Bulger, Av may feel he has basis for his opinion on Warner. Something to think about, I guess.

How does "support the idea" translate into "clearly mean"? It's simple, really. Was Bulger playing as well as he has shown himself capable of playing? I think that's an obvious "no". Whether his heart wasn't in it, he'd lost his confidence or whatever, he wasn't performing to the best of his ability and with his apparent disdain of Linehan it wasn't a far-fetched idea to consider he was intentionally not all there. I know, I know, wasted breath. Teflon Bulger is for some reason more revered and guarded by fans than just about any player in Rams history.

I don't think there is any criticism of Bulger that doesn't immediately get diverted to the coaches, o-line, ownership, the receivers and a myriad of other things.

As much as some wish for Warner to retire to end the neverending debate, I wish the same about Bulger. Warner retiring won't end anything as long as Bulger is around. I feel no loyalty to Bulger and if anything, he represents the polarization of Rams fans. He was handed the team on a silver platter and has been committed to and paid like no other Ram ever has. Good for him, he's not the answer, he never stays healthy and I'm ready to move on.

He's a good QB but not a franchise QB and since the team isn't winning anyway, I'll wish for what I actually want, not settle for a replacement.
