Bulger was never better, he just didn't have a wife that pissed off the FO, fans and his team.

    Re: Kurt warner

he stunk it up in NY while Bulger became great in his absence thats why he is gone. Now the tables have turned he has a dynamic Duo at WR like Bulger once did he also has a solid line like bulger once did and he has a pretty decent coach and defense like bulger once did. scratch the coach part

    Re: Kurt warner

Warner was always better than Bulger, They just played better on the line for Bulger for some reason.in the end anyway. The line actually stunk but Warner got the blame. But see it's the line , not Bulger who they blame now. Why in the F#%k Haven't we gotten a franchise QB yet. Bulger............................Never was .

    Re: Kurt warner

Whatever issues you might have with Warner's wife, personal beliefs, or even his level of play in his final season(s) with the Rams, he was instrumental in brining us our only SB championship. Therefore, his name should NEVER be a dirty word on this, or any Ram site.

As for Bulger, I don't seem to remember him taking us to a SB.

Do I hate Bulger? Of course not. Am I trying to bring Warner back? NO. I'm just trying to put a little different perspective in play.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!

    Re: Kurt warner

Just to clarify why this thread was moved, the ClanRam rules state:

    4. Threads concerning Ex Ram players that are still active in the NFL must be posted in the General NFL Forum.
Anyways, I imagine one reason Warner has been able to do well in Arizona is because he's enjoying better protection than Bulger is in St. Louis. Based on last year's numbers, Warner was able to throw more than double the number of passes Bulger could before getting sacked, on average. Through two games this season, Bulger has been sacked twice as many times as Warner has despite a similar number of pass attempts.

Put Warner behind this line, and I don't think it'd be any prettier.

    Re: Kurt warner

Let's also keep in mind, even if the Rams had kept Warner it may have led to him retiring by now. Either by injury or whatever, Warner wouldn't necessarily be reproducing what he's doing now if he was in St. Louis. I didn't want to see him go but in reality, it was the best thing for him and the right decision for the team. He'd lost the team and was butting heads with the coach and it's generally pretty tough to right that ship.

Plus, who knows if he would have adopted the gloves if he'd stayed in St. Louis?

Three perfect games in his career is a pretty good feather in his cap too. Only 5 QB's have more than 1 since 1949. Montana and Young, the master-manipulator's of the passer rating system each had only 1 in their careers. Peyton has the most with 4. Warner and Big Ben have 3 then there's everyone else.

    Re: Kurt warner

Was hesitant to bring this up because it's not really related to how the Rams are doing or a commentary on woulda/coulda/shoulda but it may surprise some of you, as it did me, that Warner is literally off to the best start in his career. Even better than '99. I don't know about everyone else, but the GSOT numbers generally seem untouchable in my mind. I mean, 40+ TD's and gaudy ypa numbers like those just seem unfair to compare any QB against. But, look at what ol' Kurt's been up to this year and compare it for yourself:

    1999 45/69 65% 584 7.7ypa 6td 2int 1fum 1lost 105.6 rating
    2000 60/82 73% 827 10.0ypa 4td 4int 1fum 0lost 101.0 rating
    2001 52/77 67% 629 8.0ypa 4td 3int 2fum 1lost 93.5 rating
    2002 58/80 72% 581 7.3ypa 1td 3int 0fum 0lost 81.3 rating
    2003 34/54 63% 342 6.3ypa 1td 1int 6fum 3lost 79.4 rating (1 game)
    2004 38/61 62% 435 7.1ypa 1td 0int 3fum 0lost 89.2 rating
    2005 56/88 63% 592 6.7ypa 1td 2int 3fum 1lost 77.4 rating
    2006 47/75 68% 532 7.1ypa 4td 1int 7fum 1lost 96.1 rating
    2007 29/41 70% 390 9.5ypa 3td 0int 1fum 1lost 125.0 rating
    2008 38/54 70% 558 10.3ypa 4td 0int 0fum 0lost 128.5 rating

His completion pct. in '00 & '02 was a smidge higher and his td%(not shown) was a little higher in '99 but as a line, '08 is literally his best start. No turnovers, production(not just an artificially inflated passer rating by having a high completion pct. and no turnovers) and passer rating are all better. Amazing.

But, like they say in baseball: "It's a marathon, not a sprint." Heckuva start though.

I hope Kurt has a good year. He has had plenty of bad ones.

You all can pick on Bulger if you want to and if he ever goes to another team, than I'll bet we will see him having some great years on some other team also. Maybe that would be best for him.

I don't think Warner would've retired, I think he would have been crippled. The problem is that I'm afraid that's going to happen to Bulger. I believe that it took this long for Warner to feel comfortable in the pocket again. He took an incredible beating behind the Ram's line. Bulger is taking the beating now. You can see what it's doing to his confidence.

    FIX THE O-LINE!!!!!
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!
