Whatever the money is, you can bet your left nutt that the big boy isnt going to want any less next year when he negotiates a long term contract with ziggy. Given that the cap will go up, this deal will be the starting point for what we have to pay the big boy.

    NFL.com Wire Reports
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City running back Larry Johnson agreed to a six-year contract extension and joined the Chiefs for practice Tuesday, after having been absent from training camp since it opened July 27.

The NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting the deal is worth $43.2 million, with $19 million guaranteed. It will keep Johnson, who had one year left on his old deal, with the Chiefs through 2012.
"It was a long, hard negotiation," general manager Carl Peterson said. "We are very happy to have all our children in camp now."
Johnson was in uniform, taking a swing pass from quarterback Brodie Croyle.
Chiefs spokesman Bob Moore said Johnson will speak to the media Wednesday.
Johnson has broken the Chiefs' single-season rushing record in each of the past two seasons. He ran for 1,789 yards last year and set an NFL record with 416 carries.
During his holdout, the team fined him more than $19,000 per day.

I believe in this context, GC, that "nutt" only has one 't'. Unless, of course, you are referring to the coach of the University of Arkansas, Houston Nutt.

    WHAT SAY YE?

And fantasy owners who have already had their draft and took Johnson before the holdout stuff became a major problem like me.

You took the words right out of my mouth Nick. The question is will LJ be as effective in 2007 for the Chiefs as he was last season. The Chiefs have had some O-line changes with retirements being a factor. Also there seems to be a bit of a QB controversy brewing in KC.
