NFL Network reports Cowboys released G Larry Allen
The 12-year veteran has clashed with Bill Parcells in the past and was due a $2 million roster bonus and would have had a $7.5 million cap fit. The Cowboys planned for this move when they signed Kyle Kosier.

Wow, we could REALLY USE HIM, no lie, short term deal, we need him, he's still the strongest man in the nfl, we need O-Line terribly, he's a perfect fit, lets get him!

Re: Larry Allen
You are right, but I wouldn't feel comfortable for longer than a 2 year contract.

Re: Larry Allen
Seriously guys, all talk of this should remain hypothetical. He's on a downward curve, and remains a 'name' only. You might get a year out of him admittedly, but we really need to bring some of these young guys on.
Sign him and Incognito and Terrell are looking at learning how best to pick splinters out of their asses rather than learning how to be NFL lineman.

Re: Larry Allen
exactly, he's still the strongest man in the NFL, that says something right there. We should really pick him up for those young inexperienced players, they'll learn from Pace and Allen, I mean how perfect a scenario!?

Re: Larry Allen
I agree with Fat Pang.We need a long term answer now not sometime down the road.Lets not spend a lot of money on a one year wonder that might give us more dead money later.

Re: Larry Allen
What are they going to learn? How to bench press? Allen has gotten by on his physical strength instead of technique for most of his career. Honestly, I don't want our young linemen learning anything Allen has to offer.
