Lewis released by Baltimore.

Couldn't of happened at a better time. I can bet you the Rams will pick him up with the Quickness. He's the perfect 1 2 punch we need. Think about it. Keep Stephen Davis as a 3rd string back, and have Jackson and Lewis just beat defenses down. Mark my words, Jamal Lewis will be a Rams. They'll lock him up the first day of the Free Agency period. Monday Baby Monday

Re: Lewis released by Baltimore.

I would prefer a fast, change of pace back, but Lewis would be a pretty good veteran pickup. However, would he want starter money/playing time? Good player, but might not be the best fit for the Rams.

He's a pounder, I don't think he'll look for his best chance to be on a good team at this point.

Re: Lewis released by Baltimore.

NFL.com reports that the Ravens want to re-sign Lewis, just like we did with Bruce last year. I doubt Lewis would want to come here and be a backup anyways.

Re: Lewis released by Baltimore.

Even if he has lost a step, he was still 16th in the league in rushing yards last year. I just don't think he'll sign for back-up money.

Re: Lewis released by Baltimore.

Yeah, he's still a starter for another couple of years. Although I don't think he's going to get as much money as what he already was getting. But I still think he'll start somewhere, most likely back in Baltimore. All the same, if the Rams take him I won't be dissapointed!!
