Linehan "definitely on the list" for ***** OC job

I'm told former Rams coach Scott Linehan is definitely on the list of candidates for the *****' offensive-coordinator position. But no interview has yet been confirmed. To this point, I've heard no other names.

I wonder what Isaac thinks about that.
Re: Linehan "definitely on the list" for ***** OC job
I can see why they would be so interested. The most recent coach we had in common worked out so well for them. Too?

My thought exactly. Ike and Linehan didn't exactly see eye to eye on player input.:D

hahahhahahahahhahahahha. man this is great.
Re: Linehan "definitely on the list" for ***** OC job
Does this mean that Martz is no longer with them?

Yeah, he was fired after the last game of the season..
Re: Linehan "definitely on the list" for ***** OC job
It's the only team I would wish this upon. :D
Re: Linehan "definitely on the list" for ***** OC job
Can we somehow get them to take on Marmie as D-coordinator as well?
This is great.
Re: Linehan "definitely on the list" for ***** OC job
Hum''''''''''' he might be alright as a OC. He did fine at that job for the Vikes and Fins
Re: Linehan "definitely on the list" for ***** OC job
This is great news, but I can't see it happening. At least nothing more than an interview. But if it does...there's two wins next year.
Re: Linehan "definitely on the list" for ***** OC job
I really don't like that the team let go of Martz. Now I'm not a fan of the guy at all. He had a tendency to get pass happy late in games and tended to neglect Frank Gore, Vernon Davis, and Delanie Walker in the passing game. However, the man very obviously got results and had he been retained, the team would've had something it hasn't had since 2003 - continuity at offensive coordinator. I was really hoping to see Martz hang around so I could see how well the players played after having an offseason to absorb the playbook. Oh well...
I wouldn't have a problem if Singletary went with Linehan. Given his relative inexperience as a head coach, especially regarding the offense, Singletary needs an experienced coordinator capable of operating with some autonomy. After the disaster that was Jim Hostler in 2007, I hope Singletary learned from Nolan's mistake.
On the downside, 2007 and 2008 for the Rams were meltdowns which were in part due to Linehan's poor leadership. That would make me nervous and I would hope it was a case of "good OC, bad HC" rather than some deep character flaw which will make him ineffective. Also, I wouldn't blame Isaac Bruce if he wanted out if Linehan were to become OC. I've really enjoyed watching Bruce play this season and I'd like him to play out the rest of his contract. The arrival of Linehan might be incentive not to.
Overall, Linehan has a good track record as a coordinator. He's experienced, both as a coordinator and a head coach. I don't think he's the worst option availabe.

Methinks a team with a combined five wins over the last two season has no automatic victories, regardless of which coaches go where.
Re: Linehan "definitely on the list" for ***** OC job
What's more is all this talk about Singletary wanting to run a "power offense"!!!
Oh, this is so ludicrous that it has to happen. :D
