Even the more reason to wait and see about Ryan this weekend. Why not? The Raiders don't seem interested in either Spag or Frazier so why not?
Great news, I expect we'll hire Leslie Frazier. Spagnuolo doesn't strike me as a St. Louis type. He's from the Northeast (Mass) and has worked primarily in that region. Plus the Rams never seem to go the "fashionable, glamour" route, preferring the alternative route. In this case I agree with that course. Regardless, Devaney will make the right choice I'm sure.
Go Rams! :helmet:
I heard this morning on satelite radio that Kevin Gilbride (Giants OC) was going into an interview with the Raiders either today or Friday.
Why not?
It's a great question. The only reason that comes to mind is that Devaney wants his HC in place before the Senior Bowl.
Lions to Introduce Jim Schwartz as New Head Coach
January 15, 2009
ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions will hold a press conference on Friday (January 16) at Ford Field to introduce Jim Schwartz as the Lions’ new head coach.
Details on Friday’s press conference will be released later today.
Statement from Lions President Tom Lewand:
“After an extensive search that included several highly-qualified coaches, we are thrilled that Jim Schwartz will become our team’s head coach. Martin (Mayhew) and I believe that Jim’s qualifications and vision will lead this organization on the field toward our goal of becoming a championship football team.”
You should probably change the title, very misleading to some :).
It's a nice choice of coach for the Lions.
Safe bet.
Good fer you , Detroit .
Devaney helped the Falcons last year in February....and if the Ravens lose (which I think they will) this makes it all that much better to wait till at least Monday.
Seems kinda odd to me that the Rams never really appeared all that interested in Schwartz. Maybe he just didn't trip Billy's trigger for whatever reason, but this guy certainly seemed to have some stuff going for him. Oh well now that he's the Lions coach, I guess we'll be seeing him profiled on America's Most Wanted or on the back of milk cartons or something.
WHAT SAY YE?
