London Fletcher

I am able to watch him every week because of my location - he is just an animal out there and is a huge part of the Redskins success this year. He is in on every single tackle and this week literaly body surfed his way in for a pick six!

Re: London Fletcher

Welcome to the Clan, Smokes! :bash:

Unfortunately for us, Fletcher is only a memory of days gone by, his tremendous MLB play being one to handle a great deal of the opponent's running game.

Here in the Clan we have repeatedly admitted it was an error to let him go. Still do. // I saw him yesterday Vs. Cardinals -- still amazing.

Re: London Fletcher

I'm sure the concern back then was how many more years of effectiveness London would have, and obviously we were horribly wrong in our assessment. Again, just another reason to ask why we can't get a new front office?

Re: London Fletcher

We let fletcher go because of the cap and because lovie smith convinced martz that jamie duncan was better against the pass and close against the run and was going to cost half the money. At the time, we were signing warner, faulk, bruce and subsequently holt (knowing also pace was on the horizon) to long term deals.

I for one supported the move at the time. Did it turn out to be a disaster? Of course, but i think that a lot of that is 20-20 hindsight.

ramming speed to all

Re: London Fletcher

It'll be interesting to see how the Fletcher lead Redskins defense will hold up against the Pats in Foxboro this weekend.

Re: London Fletcher

Fletcher is one hell of a big guy, and lays down the hits and moves real good. When he was on the Bills, he was definetly a key player, but on the Redskins, where he is without Takeo Spikes, he has more room to do his own thing, and he sure is taking advantage of that.
