NFL | Free agency starting three days later

ESPNews reports the NFL has delayed the start of free agency by three days. It was previously scheduled to begin Friday, March 3.
Re: NFL | Negotiations for CBA to resume
This is great news. I'm anxious for free agency to start, but I don't think the league and the PA would agree to do this unless they were optimistic that a deal could be worked out over the weekend.
Re: NFL | Negotiations for CBA to resume
You're right it is good news. But, I was sure starting to salivate over some of the potential free agents that were unexpectedly becoming available.
Re: NFL | Negotiations for CBA to resume
Not to dash any hopes, but they might just be doing this to give teams time to make additional preparations since nobody seemed to think they'd be using their "plan B".

Seahawks cut starters Dyson, Sharper

KIRKLAND, Wash (AP) - The Seattle Seahawks cut cornerback Andre Dyson and linebacker Jamie Sharper on Thursday.
Dyson, signed as a free agent from Tennessee before last season, would have counted $4.26 million against the team's 2006 salary cap. His release means the NFC champions have, for now, settled on veteran Kelly Herndon as their starting left cornerback opposite Marcus Trufant.
Dyson, a five-year veteran from Utah, started seven games for Seattle last season - including the Super Bowl loss to Pittsburgh. He missed six games with a strained right hamstring and then a sprained left ankle.
Sharper, 31, started the first eight games of last season at outside linebacker before getting a staph infection in his right knee. He eventually went on the season-ending injured-reserve list. Rookie linebacker Leroy Hill excelled in his place, making Sharper and the $17.5 million, five-year contract he signed last April expendable.
With the $1.5 million signing bonus Sharper received in that deal, he would have counted just over $2.5 million against the Seahawks' cap this season.
Seattle entered Thursday over $11 million under the league's $94.5 million salary cap for 2006 - but is still in negotiations with NFL MVP Shaun Alexander and others on possible contract extensions.
The Seahawks also released cornerback Michael Harden, a former practice-squad player who was active for the final four games of the 2005 regular season.
I think it is time we stick it back to Seattle and get vengeance for Fisher,Wistrom, etc.
Re: Seahawks cut starters Dyson, Sharper
Both old and injured alot.
Re: NFL | Negotiations for CBA to resume
Really dumb question, but -
if the Rams and Isaac Bruce don't have a new deal before Friday, does this mean we have until Sunday to resign him before we have that big hit?

Yep I think so. Actually I'm sure of it.
Re: Big Named Best Dt In Nfl Cut!
Glover is getting up there in age but I do like him and think he could come at a reasonable price.
Re: Seahawks cut starters Dyson, Sharper
...Andre Dyson is 26.
I wouldn't mind looking at him if the price is right and he's healthy. He was a fairly good defender in Tennessee.
