Let me put it this way, it would NOT be Eli. That has a familiar ring to it, huh?

Re: Marc Bulger vs Eli Manning

IF these are the only two, it's Eli. He won the big one. The kid won all those playoff games last year on the road.

With a little help from the Giants defense and some spectacular catches. Eli might very well turn out to be the real deal, but at this point in time I'm just not sold on him. IMO, when Marc Bulger is given the chance to operate in the pocket with reasonable protection, he is far and away the better QB.

Re: Marc Bulger vs Eli Manning

Hard to say. I like Marc, but Eli has more years to progress than Marc. I think Marc throws a better ball, but Eli did win the big one with inferior receivers (compared to Ram receivers of past years). I guess only time will tell, but right now I think Marc is better by a nose.

Re: Marc Bulger vs Eli Manning

Tough call because, as Chris pointed out, Eli is younger and still has upside. I think Bulger is more consistent, more accurate, and is less likely to turn the ball over. Eli is better at avoiding sacks and is just starting to show a knack for making clutch plays, but you're talking about one guy with a career QB rating of 73 (Eli) and another with a career rating of 88 (Marc).

Furthermore, Bulger has shown the ability to function in a difficult timing-based attack like Saunders'. Even quarterbacks who are good at finding the open man can struggle with an offense that asks the quarterbacks to put the ball exactly where the receiver is going to be if he runs the route correctly.

Re: Marc Bulger vs Eli Manning

I'd take Bulger, and if you asked Giant fans at the beginning of last season they would have said the same thing. As a matter of fact one of them even came here and posted a thread saying so. Now that the Giants have won the Superbowl they will say Eli. Of coourse Eli didnt win the superbowl by himself and still had pretty average stats last year although they did win the ring. We will see how good Eli is this year with a target on the Giants after winning it all.
