Here's the story...
Marcus Vick will get tryout, report says
Former Virginia Tech QB reportedly to attend Dolphins' mini-camp

Controversial former Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick will attend a rookie mini-camp with the Miami Dolphins this weekend to audition for the team, ESPN reported Tuesday.
The invitation comes with no strings attached and no promises of employment, ESPN reported.
Vick, brother of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, was undrafted and still is unsigned. He was dismissed from Virginia Tech in January.
Virginia Tech president Dr. Charles Steger termed Vick's dismissal "the cumulative effect of legal infractions and unsportsmanlike play," ESPN reported.
League rules permit clubs to bring in a limited number of free-agent rookies to participate in mini-camp sessions, ESPN reported. Teams use the practices to evaluate the players on the field and the auditions often lead to contract offers. Whether the Dolphins decide to sign Vick probably depends on how well he performs this weekend, ESPN reported.
If the Dolphins don't offer Vick a contract and no other NFL club demonstrates interest in him, he might have to consider the CFL as an option for beginning his professional career, ESPN reported.
Dolphins quarterbacks are recently acquired veteran Daunte Culpepper, untested veteran Cleo Lemon and Brock Berlin. Culpepper continues to rehabilitate from three torn ligaments in his right knee and it is not certain yet if the former Minnesota Vikings starter will be recovered for the start of the regular season, ESPN reported. Lemon, a two-year veteran obtained last year in a trade with San Diego, has yet to play in a regular-season game. Berlin, viewed as a developmental-type prospect, is currently playing in the NFL Europe League with the Hamburg Sea Devils, ESPN reported.
Vick appeared in just 24 games with Virginia Tech. At the combine workouts in February, he measured 6-feet and 200 pounds and he has been time at 4.47 in the 40-yard dash, ESPN reported.
Can this guy be turned around? For his sake, I hope so.

Re: Marcus Vick a Dolphin?
You know,I might actually consider bringing Marcus Vick in...as long as we only use him as a returner. I think seeing him come in to get clobbered at full speed a couple times a game would be quite enjoyable.

Re: Marcus Vick a Dolphin?
He has done some bad stuff(understatement of the year) he didn't seem like a bad guy when I saw him in an interview during the draft.

Re: Marcus Vick a Dolphin?
Let's see, Vick has been convicted of 4 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, wreckless driving and drug possesion, then spent 30 days in the slammer along with being issued a court order to stay away from teenage girls, then the spiked foot stomp and most recently he pulls a gun on some kids. Great guy.
Hard to believe he wasn't drafted.

I don't know what interview you saw, but when I heard him respond to questions about his past, he brushed it off as "bad luck."
