Martz accepts lions job

According to the post dispatch, while contract terms have not been worked out, martz has accepted the offensive coordinator job for the lions. great news for the lions, now they need a qb. Even Martz cant save joey in my opinion, but who knows.

ramming speed to all

Re: Martz accepts lions job

Good for him. This will give him an opportunity to improve his image as he stays in the game. I'll bet that next year he'll be on a lot of short lists for HC jobs.

Re: Martz accepts lions job

I'm happy for Mike Martz. in my opinion, he's taking over an offense with plenty of potential and can be one of the league's best.

I doubt he'll try and salvage Harrington, though.

Re: Martz accepts lions job

How impressive would it be if he could salvage Harrington? He has a lot of tools to work with and it will be interesting to see what he can do with that offense and to what degree he can improve it.

Good Luck to him; except of course against the Rams. He'll be a HC again in another couple of years.

Very happy for him. The Lions just got better on offence.

If there's anyone who can do it...

I read somewhere Martz's contract is a one year $2 million deal. Which means to me that he's definitely trying to springboard into next year's coaching hunt.

Re: Martz accepts lions job

Lions were already slated this year to be much improved and did not meet expectations. I think Martz could very well wake this sleeping offense juggernaut, on a team that already has a pretty solid D.

True they made need a QB to make it happen, but if they get one, might not be a bad idea to drop 10 bucks on their 45 to 1 shot, or whatever they will be.

Re: Martz accepts lions job

Martz and the Lions haven't agreed on a contract as of today, so the deal could still possibly fall through.

Apparently the deal has fallen through, no Martz in Detroit.
