Unfortunatly he is too late and will most likely be third string this year.

A late Matt Leinart is still better than an on-time John Navarre.

Old Denni Green feels Leinart is overpaid at 14 million and doesn't really care for him for now.
Warner will provide good tutorage for Leinart, like he did with cry baby lil Manning. After that Warner will make one last showing in the Arena and finally call it quits. Unless another team brings him in as moniker: PINATA!
Leinart will be great, but our Rams will put him down. 3 and out!

    Re: Matt Leinart Signs??????

Leinert won't see the field for the first half of the season at best. There's just no way a rookie QB can miss most of camp, and be expected to contribute out of the gate. In the 2nd half, Leinert will probably be moved ahead of Navarre on the chart and will get in if 1) Warner gets hurt, 2) they're out of the playoff race, or 3) any blowout.

There will be pressure on Green to get Leinert in the game early, but IMO, Leinert screwed himself by missing so much camp.

    Re: Matt Leinart Signs??????

I'm really not convinced he's going to be third string for very long. Not only does Leinart offer more talent than Navarre, but he played in a pro style offense in college. Green's really not going to have much to stand on if he tries to keep Leinart in that #3 role for very long, especially if Navarre keeps having horrible showings in preseason.

Green better hope Warner stays healthy for a little while, because (you're right) Navarre looked real bad the other night. However, I just don't see how Leinert will be more prepared than Navarre for roughly half the season.

But, you know how it is, money speaks and quite loudly sometimes. The pressure will be on Green to get Leinert on the field pretty quickly.

Well, what I'm saying is that Navarre has had how long already to prepare and still looks like crap. It's not out of the question to think a rookie drafted 10th overall who played in a pro style offense could take that job sooner rather than later, IMO.

No doubt matt is better than john, but john was also in camp on time too. so i exspect denny to be honorable to john untill preseason is over, then matt will more than likely be moved to 2nd string.
