Maybe it is a way to attract the kids to the game or at least try to maintain their interest, but the product itself should be enough.;)
If the NFL wasn't so intent on making money off ever facet of the game (including limiting game broadcasts so they can sell NFL Ticket through satellite).:disapointed:
These days football has a underlying theme of hip hop (Giants doing the "ballin" gesture after a sack for example). The highlights often display high energy and emotion (heck, it's football) and the music needs to play on that. There is often some high energy rock music during highlight reels, so I think you are generalizing too much.

Generalizing?
Heck, I'm lamenting that I'm so freakin' old!;)

You answered your own question. ;) ...It's ALL about the money.
...and yes, we're all getting older than dirt.
...and yes, I'm with you on the hip-hop and rap crap.

Gotta be the age factor because I'm with you. :D
Re: Maybe I'm just too old
We get older, but the players stay the same age. I guess that's what the mid-20's in this country are listening to.

Yeah, I guess so. That is why the cheerleaders at the local High School are bumping and grinding to unintelligible noise blaring from the portable speakers as part of the halftime "entertainment".
I told a fellow fan last Friday that they might just as well get the stripper pole I saw advertised on Craig's list and plant it on the sidelines for the cheerleaders...
Sheesh, I am getting old.....;)

Last I heard nobody has come back to let us know if the alternative is better or not. I'm taught it is much better, but only if you make reservations.;)

Knight played 2 games in 1987. One win, one loss.
Were you going somewhere with this Counsellor? :D Might I assume my being on death's door (metaphorically) connected the dots for you? >8)

It is just like the bumper sticker reads, "Everybody wants to go to Heaven, but Nobody wants to die":D
Re: Maybe I'm just too old
Well if it helps, I'm in my mid twenties and I agree with you guys. I also don't seperate "rap" from "hip-hop", it all sounds the same.
About a year ago at my old job I had to listen to it constantly. They had a rap station on that played the same 10 songs or so over and over again...for 6 hours.
