Patrick McManamon, of the Akron Beacon Journal, reports San Diego Chargers LB Shawne Merriman will reportedly drop his appeal this weekend and begin serving his suspension. Merriman has been suspended four games for violating the league's steroids policy.

Poor Shawne, to hear him tell it, he's a victim in the whole affair and will probably be going after the manufacturer of the "defective" supplement. Too bad he didn't realize there is an NFL list of approved supplements he could have checked and saved himself a lot of heartache.
