Re: The Michael Vick love-fest continues.
Frankly, given the impact that the Hype-Machine has on the selection process, I'm surprised that Eli Manning didn't make it.

Re: The Michael Vick love-fest continues.
HYPE is the only reason Michael Vick got into the Pro Bowl. everybody blamed his lame preformance against the bears on the cold weather, another excuse for his HYPE.aren't the "great" ones supposed to weather any kind of conditions? give me a break.

Re: The Michael Vick love-fest continues.
I can't stand Vick. He's in the same class as TO...he could be good if he found a way to shrink his ego and learn to be a team player. As it is, rub Preperation H on him and he will shrink and stop itching.

Re: The Michael Vick love-fest continues.
The single most overated player in the history of professional team sports. i live in atlanta and have to hear how great he is all day. personally, i think they would be better off with schaub at qb. he is a terrific young pocket passer. he cant scramble like vick obviously, but he can also hit the broad side of a barn with his throws, something that vick can rarely do.

Re: The Michael Vick love-fest continues.
Apparently, Vick's athleticism is all that matters to the fans, players and coaches who voted to put him on the Pro-Bowl squad, because it obviously wasn't his ability as a quarterback.

If his situation was the same as Bulgers,he would still get in.

Re: The Michael Vick love-fest continues.
There are OVER 40 NFL players with a higher completion percentage than VICK's 54.0 .
It's truly embarrassing that he made the pro-bowl.
He threw for less yards than Marc Bulger (even though Bulger's missed all those games). His combined Offense was less than Kurt Warner (who also missed his share of games).
This is a J O K E . But, I predicted it.

Re: The Michael Vick love-fest continues.
I would tend to agree with everybody, BUT........
For the program they run in Atlanta, Vick is a great QB. Who had the best running game in the NFL last year? Yep, the Falcons. Great ground game this year, too. Who needs a pocket passer with a ground game like that?
Overrated, yes. Terribly one-dimensional? You bet. But for a running team, why not foster an athletic, run-happy QB like Vick?
I do agree, however, that Mike's presence in Hawaii is reprehensible and hype-fueled.

Re: The Michael Vick love-fest continues.
Hey Guys,
You have to remember he told the media "he didn't want to ever hear again questions about his passing"
Guess they are listening to Mr. Vick. Remember, all the NFL commercials last year about the VICK experience?
Guess it includes being told to never ever question him.
Sincerely,
Ron Mexico

Re: The Michael Vick love-fest continues.
Every couple of years same thing happens, first Mcnabba, then Cul salt n peppa and now vicktoria. They find a qb that has more yards than a RB, and then there is nothing else you hear from them the whole season. They like that kind of qb because if fun to watch, but we now how they ends. They finally gets a hard hit (culpa got it, mcchunky too) and stops scrumbling that much, and finally ends up as a pocket qb. Bunch of loosers, culpepa king of the loosers, mcchuncky king of the chokers, let's see how does vika ends.
They claim that the falcons doesn't have WR, I say they have but their qb always is trying to get a 45yds run instead of hitting them btwn the nrs

Re: The Michael Vick love-fest continues.
The reason I find this subject interesting on this forum is because I watch TV and listen to ESPN radio a lot, and they won't EVER criticize Vick. It's like he's Superman and end of story. If this was Joe SMoe making the Pro-bowl with a 54.0 completion percentage and QB rating like Joey Harrington's the Sports Journalists would be asking - What's going on here? They'd be interviewing Paul Tagliabue and asking him - is there favoritism here. HBO would have a segment questioning the validity of the Pro-Bowl. Does it stain the NFL's reputation. However, all the different networks just act like VICK is better than Joe Montana.
It's so strange no one comes out of the pack (pick a Network) and says this isn't right.
Remember Vick has a GOOD OL, the NFL's leading Rushing game, a PRO-BOWL TIght END (Alge Crumpler) ... Atlanta's running game takes big time pressure off VICK.. Defenses have to account for that running game first.

Re: The Michael Vick love-fest continues.
Ya I'm getting sick of Vick doing squat and then making it. Hense he doesn't have the speed he has he won't make the pro bowl. He relies on his scrammbling ability

Re: The Michael Vick love-fest continues.
Anyone remember Steve Young in Tampa and his early days at the whiners? He was a running QB with poor accuracy but didn't turn out too bad.
Maybe we have to wait a little longer for his passing game to show up.
Vick shouldn't be in the Pro Bowl with those numbers, but highlight reels would seem to make all the difference. Most of his apologists seem to blame the west coast scheme saying it's not a good fit for him.
Maybe we should ask Peerless Price?
