Mike Singletary Fired: ***** Owner Jed York Will Hire New GM, Head Coach

Mike Singletary will be fired at the end of the season according to San Francisco ***** owner Jed York. He also went on to say that they will be hiring a new general manager as well. All in all, the routine after a disappointing season like the ***** have had thus far.
In my opinion, it's undoubtedly the wise decision because neither have done a half-decent job this season. In fact, I believe the management deserves the majority of the blame.
Rumors indicate that Jon Gruden and Jim Harbaugh are the leading candidates for the position, yet both would like structure in the front office before they come to coach.
Singletary is 18-22 as the team's head coach.

Not entirely sure why you would do this with one game left instead of just letting him coach out the last game and firing him.

Make an example I guess, but it seems odd to go with an interim for a week just because.

How bout Singletary as Rams DC? Singletary's son in Law's pick lead to jawing with Troy Smith on the sidelines, who threw the pass, was the final straw in the Coach's downfall.

There's a lot more dysfunction in the Whiners organization than Singletary's poor coaching.. And I like it!!!
But I can finally give my respect to Samurai Mike once more seeing that he's out of that organization. After all, he was a great linebacker back in his days.

I've seen speculation that it could allow them to move on someone sooner who may not be available to them after the NFL season finishes up (ie. Harbaugh at Stanford).

Harbaugh wants to be in the NFL real bad he is uber competitive with his best friend and brother. Now he will be in the same arena. I dont really like it when Stanford coaches become whiners coaches .

Hmm, I don't think I would want him as our d coordinator, I could see a too many cooks in the kitchen scenario developing. However... I would love to bring him on as our linebackers coach. Draft a raw freak of nature OLB in the second round (or/and in the first round) and let him coach them and JL up.
