What the hell are Brian Ulacher and Payton Manning doing on the list? Not sure what the players participating in the poll could be thinking.

Seems to me like a lot of players voted out of sheer jealousy.

    Re: Most overrated player

Terrell Owens is definitely overrated, he's a good receiver, but with the way the media is talking you'd think he was head and shoulders above any other receiver, which is hardly the case. There's at least 4-5 better receivers in the NFL, arguably more.

Another player that I have begun to think is slightly overrated (not a candidate for the list at all though) is (I expect a lot of people might disagree on this) Walter Jones. He's a very good tackle, don't get me wrong, but I've heard journalists call him "the best player in the NFL at any position period" and so on. He was extremely good, even a bit underrated a year or two ago, but he's just not as good as his stellar reputation would have you believe right now I think. He also benefitted from playing next to Hutchinson, who I believe just may be a better player right now, and since Hutchinson's departure he hasn't looked as good (I've watched Seattle a couple of times this season, most recently the Minnesota game). He may still be among the best tackles, but best player period? No way.

And I can only agree Brian Urlacher and Peyton Manning don't belong on the list. They're actually as good as people say, if not better.

    Re: Most overrated player

First off, I can't stand TO. He is everything that is wrong with the NFL, and professional sports in general. Having said that, there is nothing "overrated" about TO. Physically speaking, he is the most talented receiver in the league today. Nobody on the field can match up with TO on a physical basis. If not for his mental condition, he'd be unstoppable. He most certainly is not "overrated".

So who is "overrated"? For and away, Michael Vick. He's a RB, playing QB. Easily the most over-hyped player in the league, maybe the most over-hyped athlete on the planet.

Ah GC, you beat me to it. Favor, I mean... Farve, I mean, Favre, is sooooo overated, it's a joke. Sure, every so often he make a spectacular throw, but how many games must this guy throw away before people see him for what he really is. OVERATED. He takes way too many chances and put up throws that are nothing more than "prayers". Gawd, some announcers practically worship the guy.

I'm not so sure. He currently leads the league in dropped passes with 10 this season. The guy used to be considered top five in the league, but is dropping off IMO.

But he wasn't 1.5 months ago when I typed that post.

    Re: Most overrated player

Shawn alexander should be on that list, key players on that line of his make him what he is. Steve Hutchinson left and immediately, his production went down from last year. without that line, he won't make his own holes, see the field, or juke for extra yardage. Seahawk fans know what i'm talking about. Steven Jackson, E James, and Gore to name a few, would do much, much, more behind that line.

It's hard to look at Alexander's production this year because he hurt his foot in the first game, so to say it was just his line isn't fair. He looked good running for over 200 yards last Monday (yes I know it was Green Bay) but 200 yards is 200 yards. The rest of the season will tell how much a healthy Alexander really misses Hutchinson.
