NFL games on verizon

Does anybody know how you get to watch NFL games off of Verizon, (U.S.) I hear if you have an account or go through FiOs and Directv you can watch the games for free, since your already paying for Verizon. I live near D.C., and Verizon has been trying to change everything to fiber optics in the area, but I'm not sure if they'll be done by the time the season starts. I'm still curious though if they let Verizon DSL customers to use it, and if they have Directv.

A friend of mine told me if you inform Verizon of your account you can watch the games.

yeah, i just haven't got around to it yet. verizon has put alot of its cables in around here, I believe my neighborhood is getting it soon.
