NFL No Fun League
NFL | League cracking down on excessive celebrations
Mon, 27 Mar 2006 18:02:51 -0800
Mickey Spagnola, of DallasCowboys.com, reports while no names were mentioned, the NFL competition committee has informed officials to tighten up on taunting and excessive celebrations as a point of emphasis. Touchdowns celebrations shall be confined to the end zone, and no longer will props or the ball being used as a prop in celebration be tolerated. So that means no grabbing of pompons, no Sharpie signings and no cell-phone calls. Spiking the ball, spinning the ball or dunking the ball over the crossbar still will be acceptable. Violations will result in 15-yard personal foul penalties.Last edited by Rambos; -03-27-2006 at 10:18 PM.

Damn right too, don't want these selfish, money grabbing, egotists ruining the multi-million dollar corporate NFL with their rampant individualism.
How dare they!

I don't know....sheeesh....I don't think anyone has gone too far with celebrations....I used to love when teammates would gather together to do a little skit...even the individual ones weren't all that extensive to delay the game per se, and they were fun and entertaining. I think they should put a time limit of ....say... 20 seconds...anything beyond that, then flag for delay of game. That's the problem with having a bunch of dusty of farts getting together in a room. Come to think about it, this whole country lately has become a bunch of stuck in the 50's, Leave it to Beaver, can't have fun conservative bummers.

Re: NFL No Fun League
This is stupid. Football may be a team game, but there is nothing wrong with celebrating. If the other team cant stop you from scoring, then you should be able to celebrate.
Hopefully someone will step up and change this one day.The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.

Lame....lame.....lame. The No Fun League strikes again.
I really don't understand why it has to be so serious. It is a game. What is wrong with celebrations?
Is this a new rule change? Why does Rambo's post have 3/31/04 on it?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Re: NFL No Fun League
Although I think the celebrations have become so stupid it's embarassing (changing diapers, burping babies), I see nothing wrong with letting players make themselves look like idiots if they want to. I do however think players putting props on the field of play (sharpies, cellphones) should definitely be banned.
