NFL | Tagliabue contemplating retirement
Thu, 9 Mar 2006 16:00:54 -0800
Updating previous reports, ESPN.com's Chris Mortensen reports NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue is contemplating ending his 17-year reign as commissioner of the NFL. Tagilabue is expected to exercise a clause in his contract that would make him a "Senior Executive" consultant with a significant compensation package. Tagliabue has two year remaining on his contract that is believed to pay him between $8 million and $10 million through May of 2008. It is possible he will make his decision within the next 60 days.
