NFL's Best Skill Position Trio
In the early 90s, the Cowboys "triplets" of Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin were credited with being a big reason for Dallas' success. In more recent years, Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison and Edgerrin James were analogized to the Cowboy's trio.
So, which team has the best "trio" today?
I post this knowing full well that I run the risk of getting a biased result. All I can ask for is objectivity. That said, being objective, the Rams have a fair claim to this title.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: NFL's Best Skill Position Trio
#1. Bulger, Holt & Jackson
#2. Bulger, Bruce & Jackson
#3. Manning, Harrison & Addai
#4. Manning, Wayne & Addai
#5. Big Ben, Ward & Parker
#6. Palmer, Johnson & Johnson
Alot of other teams have 2 standouts but not the 3rd.

Re: NFL's Best Skill Position Trio
AV, what the heck!? Where's the Black Hole's terrifying threesome of Walters/Fargus/Curry?
Seriously, I can't believe there aren't some whiner fans jumping on the Smith/Gore/Davis bandstand."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: NFL's Best Skill Position Trio
Can't leave off what is close to a tie with the Colts for the #2 spot:
Chargers: Rivers, LT, Gates

Re: NFL's Best Skill Position Trio
Colts: Manning/Addai/Harrison-Addai is unproven
Rams: Bulger/Jackson/Holt-Jackson has only had one good year don't know what we'll get next year, close second.
Saints: Brees/McCallister/Colston-Same with Colston as Jackson
Steelers: Roethlisberger/Parker/Ward-no
Bengals: Palmer/R.Johnson/C.Johnson-All three have proven them selves as big time players
Cardinals: Leinart/James/Boldin-Leinart is young and james hasn't proven he can do it in Zona
Cowboys: Romo/Jones/Owens-Romo and Jones are both average players at the time
Seahawks: Hasselbeck/Alexander/Branch-Hasselback and Alexander coming off injuries and don't know how Branch will mesh in Seattle
Patriots: Brady/Maroney/Moss-Maroney coming off major surjury and it's Randy Moss
Eagles: McNabb/Westbrook/Brown-Brown is too young
I picked the BengalsLast edited by rams_fan81; -05-30-2007 at 09:28 PM.

Re: NFL's Best Skill Position Trio
Av, this is the most ridiculas poll on this board. Whats the point in asking which team has the best skill position players and have the Rams as an option on a Ram fan forum. Was this really necessary?

Re: NFL's Best Skill Position Trio
I would say the Titans, except I'm not sure who their #1 running back or receiver even are

Re: NFL's Best Skill Position Trio
Um... what is that supposed to mean? I'm not Marc Bulger, Steven Jackson or Torry Holt
Truth is, I would have guessed the poll would be more balanced, but I think even non-Rams fans would have a hard time arguing that there's a better QB/RB/WR trio in the league right now.
