    Nnamdi to SF...

    Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter

CB Nnamdi Asomugha is signing a 1-yr deal with ***** worth $1.35 million in base salary, but get this: He didn't want ANY guaranteed money.

Great move by them with extremely small risk.

If he gets back to his old self, we are in for some trouble.

Though he'll likely improve that secondary, I don't think he'll be that much of a threat as he once was back in Oakland. His tenure in Philly really exposed his weaknesses and I'm sure other teams will catch on to them. The guy has shown to have top-notch man-coverage skills but when playing in the zone, he'll look as bad as Justin King.

Meh. He'll be 32 at the start of the year, and has been average over the past two seasons.

    Big name? Yes.

    Big impact? I doubt it.

I agree, probably not a particularly huge impact, but at that cap value, an outstanding addition for them and a guy that will contribute, in all liklihood above his cap value. I agree he has been average, but i dont know many "average" NFL corners that can start that work for 1.32 million per year.

This guy has been vastly overrated by the whole NFL community, and nothing has changed now. Not afraid of him at all. Kind of happy actually, he was a joke last year. I bet he looks a bit better this year because he's on the best D in the league, but he got worked by guys like Jacoby Jones on the weekly, so the last thing I worry about next year is Nnamdi "overrated" Asomugha..

And to think people actually even compared him to Revis 2 years ago LOL! What a JOKE.

Another hole and another body fills it is what this translates into. Its a solid move for the 49whinners--he will make plays here and there but don't see him being rated in the top 10 come end of season, less the 49whinners can constantly get pressure up front to get opposing QBs to make really bad decisions
