Okay, someone explain this one to me...

    From KFFL:

Chiefs | Hodge a robbery victim
    Thu, 16 Mar 2006 09:01:16 -0800
Elizabeth Merrill, of the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/142">Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs CB Alphonso Hodge was a robbery victim March 6, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution citing police documents. A man allegedly pulled out a revolver and, along with two other men, took $8,500 in cash, $32,000 worth of jewelry, a $6,000 watch, and his Hummer2. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday, March 15, the police have caught the men who allegedly held up Hodge. The robbery took place during a late-night trip to the Waffle House in Atlanta.
Someone explain this one to me.

You're hungry, and decide to make a late night trip to the Waffle House. So what do you bring along with you?

I don't know about you, but I'm probably going to bring about $40.00 and, as for jewelry, I'm wearing my wedding ring and maybe my $70.00 watch (which happens to be a Rams watch).

Who brings $8,500 and $32,000 in jewelry and a $6,000 watch?

Why not just wear a "Rob Me" sign around your neck?

Man, that's crazy. I'll bet even the waitress had half a mind to rob him when he opened his wallet to pay.

Didn't Jerome Bettis lose 32,000 bucks worth of SB stuff at the Super Bowl or something? I forget what he did, I heard he lost a lot of money too, I don't think he was robbed...but wow, I hope this guy learned his lesson! lol Maybe next time, all his bling will be his teeth, can't really rob that can ya? unless you beat him up, and yank it out, but still, a lot harder with the gold teeth, those rapper guys know what they're doing, I suggest nfl players do the same lol

It’s funny; during the SB week, I was watched some old footage about Jim Zorn QB for the Hawks. It showed him driving to a game in a VW bug, also in the car was Steve Largent. It took me a few seconds to process that fact he could afford any car he wanted. But at the same time he was not making more money then he could spend in 5 lifetimes. I guess when you make that kind if cash, your $70 watch is equal to his $6,000 watch.

The one I still can’t get my head around, Henley of the Rams, who was making around 250-350K I’m assuming, playing football for a living, would do something so stupid as drug trafficking.

Maybe he needed the $8,500 because he was REALLY, REALLY hungry, and wanted lots of waffles.

Thats the only reason i can think of

That's a good point. You know how many scattered, covered, smothered, hash browns that kind of bank will get you?

There is nothing to explain. The cops are at Krispy Kreme. Not at the Waffle House or the International House of Pancakes ...
