Which do you prefer?
I've seen our RAMS play at a few open stadiums. Tampa Bay, Buffalo, New England and Giants stadium. I have been to the Edward Jones Dome for several games.
I definitely prefer the DOME!
I prefer the feel of an open stadium. A dome is like being in a big hangar, but actually pretty nice when the elements get nasty. If I had to choose between the two, I'd take an open stadium hands down. However, IMO the only way to go these days is a stadium with a retractable roof. Building anything else makes little sense to me.
being in the northest also I have been to those stadiums (except Tampa) also and I would prefer a dome or as Mike said a retractable roof stadium,in Buffalo it can be 70 degrees and still feel cold,Giants stadium is like a giant toilet ( they will have a new one soon) and the Pats stadium is pretty new but enjoying the game depends on the weather.
I love our dome here in Syracuse , but i'm sorry kids , every team should have the home field advantage , and a big part of that is weather . The BEARS should have the edge at home in december , same as the GIANTS , PACKERS . Same as the DOLPHINS and BUCS in august and september . All teams should be on real grass in outdoor stadiums , rain , sun or shine . And it would be a better game i bet .
I voted open, but I do like that idea of a retractable roof configuration as long as we're talking grass...
The Rams new stadium in LA (City of Industry) is being built, right now as we blog! It is an open stadium which would provide and take advantage of the 'year round' sunny and plesant atmostphere. The Rams return to Southern California will harken back to the days the teams played at Anaheim Stadium or the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
The new stadium has yet to be named, too early to tell which corporate franchaise will sponsor the Rams new Home. Stay Tune! I will keep everyone posted!
Depends; if I'm playing, definitely the Dome. If I'm watching, I like the open stadiums better. I voted open.
This is a tough choice. I like the benefits of both. But, seeing a lot of games in Ohio at the Horseshoe, an open stadium, you don't really notice the cold when there's an exciting game. However, when the game is a bit of a bore, then it REALLY becomes noticeable. I think I would have to prefer a dome, eeeek.
As I get older, I appreciate the comfort of a dome, but there is nothing like a game outside in the elements with a real grass field. My old school sentiment will always be with an open stadium.
To me, that's like asking grass or carpet?
It's football, and it's meant to be played on grass, outside. I can honestly say that I've never seen a football game indoors, but I have watched an MLB game in a dome and it was all wrong to me. But then I live in So Cal where the weather is almost always pleasant, so maybe if I lived in, let's say.... Missouri, I might feel different.
So I guess the best option for a team in an area where that white stuff falls from the sky would be a retractable dome with real grass, like they have in Arizona.
It depends on the time of year.
I'm 50/50 on this one. Watching on TV I like the open stadium. I love watching a game played in the snow and heavy rain. Going to the game, I perfer the dome, I like not having to worry about the weather and how warm I need to dress. So, TV - open, watching live - dome!
I prefer open, most our of players are always getting hurt because they have to take two hits, the opposite player and the Ground!!
And as we all heard, Isaac Bruce got turf toe!
Everyone gets hurt more on turf i swear!!
Like an above quote.... "football was meant to be played on grass"
BARTELL IS A BEAST!!!!
