Packers Reject Nike's New Uniform Changes

Packers Reject Nike’s New Uniform Changes

    Greenbay Packers, NFL

After Nike unveiled their rollout of new NFL uniforms for 2012, it was evident that the Green Bay Packers rejected any changes for the coming season, according to Nike.

At the Green Bay Packers’ page on NikeInc.com, it states: “The Green Bay Packers have chosen to stay with their traditional design aesthetic as well as their former uniform fabrication for the coming season.”

The Packers allowed no changes to their classic look as well as changing the new technology Nike introduced which includes a different fabric that is lighter when wet.

Although the Packers are among a handful of teams who opted to stay with their traditional uniforms, Nike has redesigned Nike Vapor Jet 2.0 Glove featuring the interlocking team logo on the palms.

Probably not enough tradition. I had a feeling the Packers wouldn't embrace these new uniforms. Interesting that teams can refuse all the changes, or accept only some. The Steelers were another team I thought would be resistant to change from tradition. They're going with the new look, without the collar change. A few other teams are sticking with the old uniforms without any changes as well.
