Panthers | Manning could look around

Darin Gantt, of the Rock Hill Herald, reports Carolina Panthers CB Ricky Manning Jr. accepted his role as the team's No. 3 cornerback in 2005, but it does not mean he will permanently accept the role. "I feel comfortable saying he's not comfortable with that role forever," Manning's agent James Ivler said. "He feels like he can be a starter in the league for the long-term. Last year, the moves they made deepened the team, and he was fine with it -- he was a good solider." Manning is scheduled to become a restricted free agent in March. The Panthers could keep him another year by placing the first-round tender on him (expected to be around $1.5 million), which would require any team signing him to provide a first-rounder as compensation and no team would pay that price. If they put the low tender on him (expected to be around $700,000), it's feasible that someone would surrender a third-round pick for Manning.

IMO if he doesn't resign with the Panthers he would be a nice pick up. I think if he does we should look into him.
