Re: Priest Holmes returns!!!
Its not his age I'd be worried about.
Anybody remember the scene in Any given Sunday where the coach and doctor sit down with the Shark? "One more hit to the head could kill him."
I hope is recovery is 100% and that there are no questions left about the neck.
Indeed welcome back, be careful.

I don't think that's a really good comparison. Martin didn't play at all last year, and the year before struggled to produce. He's now retired at the age of 34. Meanwhile, Priest has only played in 15 games in the last three seasons, didn't play at all last year, and turns 34 in October. It's not as if Martin was piling on 1,000 yard seasons at 34, so I don't see any reason to compare the two. As for the Chiefs' O-line, it's not nearly as strong as it used to be a few seasons ago.
Priest had a very strong series of years, but he's not going to suddenly return to the '02-'03 form. He needs to hang them up.
Re: Priest Holmes returns!!!
I think he needs to stay retired and enjoy life outside of football.

One would hope he doesn't "need the money" enough to jeopardize his health any more than the abuse he has taken to get this far in the NFL.
Re: Priest Holmes returns!!!
I sincerely hope he's 100%, with all the blows he's taken over the years and the terrible injuries, I hope he's real careful. As stated before, the line won't be as good without Shields and that other guy (can't remember the name), but they will still have a pretty good O-line. I don't know how he will get through the season (if he does).
Re: Priest Holmes returns!!!
Holmes is going to have a tough time getting back anywhere close to where he was. I'd love to see him succeed because he's a class act all the way, but I have a feeling this will be a short experiment.

The "other guy" would be Willie Roaf who retired last year. BTW in a move that may smack of desperation the Chefs just signed Kyle (The Steaming Pile) Turley to play tackle for 'em. Maybe Holmes should reconsider his decision.
WHAT SAY YE?
