I disagree on that one, the Arizona player was completely out of balance and did everything he could to avoid touching the holder even protecting him with his hands as best he could. Besides it happened late so it didn't affect the play at all. Would have been a good non-call.

That one is very close, I'm not sure the ball didn't touch the ground just outside the endzone it looked like it might have to me. Very tough one to judge. On the other hand does anyone know what the rules say about a player (Fitzgerald) running out of bounds and then entering the field again to tackle someone? Is that even allowed? If not that would make the discussion about whether the ball was in a moot point and it would be a touchdown regardless.

Um... no... because the phrase "very good job" is, by its nature, subjective. Thus, the fact that the statement is an opinion may easily be inferred without any additional qualifiers.

Thank you for your submission, BigNitpickyMan (and by that I am implying that you are both big, and a nitpicker).

I did not perceive any unwarranted disparity.

And you think that the amount of penalties seemed consistant with other SuperBowls?
Not necessarily. In the past, there have been Super Bowls in which the refs took a "let them play" approach (Rams/Patriots, for example). I think that approach is wrong. The refs should call the game according to the rules, and should never allow blatant personal fouls (of which there happened to be a lot in this game).

Fair enough Avenger. You are entitled to your own opinion.
