Jason Jones, of the Sacramento Bee, reports Oakland Raiders RB Dominic Rhodes has been suspended the first four games of the 2007 season for violation of the NFL's Substance Abuse policy. He can return to the active roster Oct. 1 and is allowed to practice during training camp while also taking part in preseason games. His suspension begins Aug. 31.

I hate seeing stuff like that. Go from champion to can't play. This guy or Bob Sanders should have gotten that Superbowl MVP. Sanders was the MVP of the Colts team, and without him, the D would have fallen apart against the Bears. Rhodes made some very, very tough runs at the end of the game to really suck up a ton of clock and prevent a comeback.

Perhaps the Colts knew what they were doing when the let him go...

Sounds like a good opportunity for Michael Bush to get some playing time:

If he had stayed healthy during Louisville's 2006 season, Michael Bush might have been a first-round draft pick. Instead, he broke his leg in Louisville's first game and ended up a fourth-round pick.

But the early reports out of the Raiders' off-season activities have indicated that Bush is making enough progress that people watching him can't even tell which leg he broke last year. And if that leg is 100 percent by the time the regular season starts, Bush may end up being the steal of the 2007 draft.

This thread kinda ties in with the thread "who's going to be the most disappointed". Faider fans are already beginning to see and feel the disppointment before the season even begins. Ah, how I love a good Faider failure story. Kinda makes my heart all warm and tingly.
